The Outlaws returned to
their winning ways with a 6-4 victory against Lower Nazareth.
Jim Redington (2-0) pitched 5⅔ innings
and Scott Price closed the door with a bases loaded strikeout to
preserve the lead.
The
Outlaws jumped ahead in the top of the first 2-0. Donnie
Pietrafesa led off the game with a triple to right field and scored
on Justin Rodriguez's single to center field. Rodriguez stole
2nd and scored on a single by Dylan Denninger.
Lower Nazareth came back with runs in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd to take
a 4-3 lead.
The
score remained the same into the 5th. With 2 outs, Pietrafesa
singled. On a hit-and-run-play, Rodriguez tripled into the
right-center field gap scoring Pietrafesa and tying the score at 4.
In
the top of the 6th, the Outlaws took the lead. Jim Redington
opened with a single to left. Randy Lloyd came in to pinch-run
for Redington. Lloyd then stole 2nd. Scott Price then
hit a single into center field. Lloyd raced for home but the
throw beat him to the catcher. Randy's slide knocked the ball
from the catcher and he was safe with the go-ahead run. Price
ended up on 2nd.
Price would steal 3rd and would later score on a Bryan Boesenberg
ground out to the 2nd baseman. This gave the Outlaws a 6-4.
In
the bottom of the inning, Redington quickly retired the first 2
batters. But 2 singles and a walk loaded the bases.
Price was called on to relieve and struck out the final batter of
the inning ending the threat.
The
top of the 7th inning was started but was eventually halted by
darkness securing the Outlaws victory.
Redington would finish the game giving up 4 runs, 3 earned, while
striking out 5 and walking 4.
The
Outlaws are now 4-1 on the season.
