Away vs. Hazleton
Outlaws 13
Hazleton 1
Cody Knecht pitched a complete
game and the Outlaws offense provided enough spark as the Outlaws
defeated Hazleton 13-1 to run their winning streak to 8.
Knecht (2-0) was within one out
of the first complete game shutout in Outlaws history, but a double
with 2 outs put Hazleton on the scoreboard. Knecht was
effective from the beginning. He retired the first 8 Hazleton
batters he faced and only allowed 1 run on 4 hits, striking out 6
and walking none.
The Outlaws would score 6 in the
top of the first giving Knecht the cushion he would need. The
Outlaws first 7 batters would reach base highlighted by a Josh Perch
triple which scored Tyler Franks. Franks had singled scoring
lead-off hitter James Loua; who had reached on a walk.
Consecutive walks to Jake
Hollweg, Glenn Iversen and Travis Bisbing scored another run.
And Knecht helped himself by singling in 2 runs for a quick 6-0
lead.
Jake Hollweg would hit an rbi
triple in the 6th as the Outlaws offense helped Knecht who had a
strong day on the mound.
