June 7:
Away vs. Bushkill Patriots
Outlaws 16
Bushkill Patriots 4
Glenn Iversen pitched the
Outlaws' first complete game of the season and Josh Perch went 3-4
with a walk as the Outlaws won their
6th straight with a 16-4 victory against the Bushkill Patriots.
The Outlaws offense quickly
staked the team to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first. James
Loua led off with a double and scored on Donnie Pietrafesa's single
for a fast 1-0 lead. Perch would drive in Pietrafesa and Larry
Kresge would score Perch when shortstop Michael Lester couldn't
handle Kresge's grounder.
The Patriots would answer right
back in the bottom of the first. Iversen allowed 3 of the
first Patriots batters to reach base as the score closed to 3-2.
But Iversen settled down striking out the last 2 batters of the
inning preserving the lead.
The Outlaws would build onto
their lead in the top of the 2nd. James Iversen, Loua,
Pietrafesa and Jake Hollweg would all score as the Outlaws built a
commanding 7-2 lead.
That would be more than enough
for Iversen. Iversen found his rhythm in the middle innings;
after the slow start in the first, he would retired 9 Patriots in a
row before a one-out single in the 4th. But the runner was
quickly erased as Iversen picked him off as he attempted to steal
2nd. He would get out of the 4th with a strike out.
The Outlaws offense would score
runs in the 4th, 5th and 6th as they built a 16-2 lead. Rick
Orengo doubled and finished the game with 2 hits and 2 rbi's.
Jake Hollweg continued his sizzling season with 3 more rbi's.
Iversen finished the game with 8
strikeouts and only 2 walks.
