The Outlaws ran their winning
streak to 4 wins with a 5-2 victory against Panther Valley.
Jon Mandile picked up his first victory of the season scattering 5
hits over 6 innings while
allowing only 1 run in an impressive debut.
The Outlaws took the lead in the
bottom of the first. Tyler Franks walked with one out and
scored on a Jake Hollweg single to put the Outlaws ahead 1-0.
The Outlaws padded their lead in
the 3rd with 3 runs. Larry Kresge led off with a single.
Franks followed with his second single of the game to put runners on
1st and 2nd. Josh Perch sacrificed the runners into scoring
position and Jake Hollweg drove them both in with a 2-rbi single.
Glenn Iversen doubled to left center, scoring Hollweg and increasing
the lead to 4-0.
Mandile kept the Black Diamonds
off the scoreboard effectively changing speeds with his fastball and
off-speed pitches.
The Outlaws tacked on another run
in the 5th. With one out, Hollweg, who finished the game 3-3,
hit a triple and scored on a Chad Decker single to build a 5 run
Outlaws lead.
The Black Diamonds would score
one run in each the 6th and 7th innings. Scott Price relieved
Mandile in the 7th allowing one run. But was effective to nail
down his 2nd save of the season. Price finished the game 2-2
and was hit by a pitch.
