Glenn Iversen (2-0) pitched his
2nd complete game of the season as the Outlaws defeated Plainfield
Township 8-1.
With one out in the top of the
first, Cody Knecht reached on an error followed by a single by Josh
Perch. Knecht scored when Jake Hollweg continued his hot
hitting by singling to center. Perch would score on a Glenn
Iversen fielders choice to give the Outlaws a quick 2-0 lead.
In the top of the 2nd, the
Outlaws added onto their lead when with one out, Dylan Denninger
reached on an error. He reached 2nd when Scott Price was
walked and scored on an rbi-single by James Loua for a 3-0 lead.
Iversen was shutting the door on
Plainfield. He ran into trouble in the bottom of the 3rd; He
walked the lead-off man in the inning. This was followed by a
single to put runners on 1st and 2nd. After a strike out, he
walked the bases loaded. With 2 outs and the bases still
loaded, he walked his 3rd batter of the inning to cut the Outlaws
lead to 3-1. This would be all Plainfield would get as Iversen
settled in and pitched a complete game. Iversen would finish
the game with 7 strikeouts and scattering 4 hits.
The Outlaws would add 4 more runs
in the top of the 4th highlighted by a 2 run single by James Loua.
Loua would finish the game with 3 rbi's.
The Outlaws improve to 10-0.
